THE BABY IS NOW A LADY

I just turned 18 last January 14.The celebration was held last saturday,January 13 at Stonehouse Place.
It was indeed a lovely and memorable night for me as I entered womanhood. :)

I didn't expect the number of visitors that night. Were only expecting about a 100 but it exceeded into 40.I was indeed blessed to have a great number of people who loves me so much and that I was able to celebrate it like I've always dreamed of which proves how fortunate I am to experience that kind of birthday.

As I enter the threshold of womanhood, I don't know what to expect or whether I'll expect anything.
Being 18 is such a big deal for me because I am more loaded with responsiblities and pressure from those people around me,including my parents.

I can't even believe that I just turned eighteen!
It's just like yesterday that I was playing hide and seek with my cousins only wearing undies and a shirt.LOL
Time really flies so fast and I didn't even noticed it.

The little girl who used to sit on his father's lap and ask her mom for a pasalubong is now grown up.
As what my tita said in her speech in my 18 candles " The baby is now a lady ". But I'm still the same old Dana whom you used to know.I'm still the girl or (should I say lady?) who sometimes messes up things around her.
I'm still the little princess of my daddy and will always be the baby of my mommy. :)

YOUTH VOTERS?

This past few days news about the upcoming National Elections are everywhere, may it be on the television, radio or newspapers.
Aspiring candidates for all kinds of positions both in local and national are starting to think about their strategies for them to win.

But did it ever crossed our mind that we,the youth have a great role in the upcoming May elections?
or did it ever occur to us that our generation are the one who'll have a great benefit in the future?

It crossed my mind this afternoon when we had a talk about the said matter.
Almost half of the voters will be the youth as what our guest speaker had said.

I myself had already been registered to vote for the National Elections since I'll be turning 18 before the election and I do believe that we,the youth really have a great role in installing the next government officials which will hopefully lead our country to a better situation.

What the candidates should possess is not a 'good personality' but a platform which is for us because as I've said, were the ones who'll benefit from it.As a voter,we should really think whom we should put in the position/s because our future depends here.

And that is my assignment for myself,I should look for those who deserves to be in position.
Those who'll make our living a much comfortable one. :)
